PERME  W3/230 Water Vapor Transmission Rate test system

PERMETM W3/230 Water Vapor Transmission Rate Test System is for the water vapor transmission rate determination for plastic films, laminated films, sheets as well as bottles, pouches, cans, boxes made from plastic, rubber, paper, glass and metal, etc. Through water vapor transmission rate testing, the demands for control and adjust technical indexes and satisfy applications are met.

Principle
Infrared method: place the pre-conditioned specimen in between the testing chamber, nitrogen of a stable relative humidity flows in one side of the film, and the dry nitrogen flows in the other. Owing to the humidity difference, water vapor will permeates through the film from high humidity side into the low humidity side. In the low humidity side, the permeated water vapor is carried by the dry nitrogen to the infrared sensor, which would produce electronic signals proportionally. Through analysis and calculation of sensor signals, water vapor transmission rate and other parameters of the specimen can be obtained. As to packages, dry nitrogen flows inside the package, and the outside of the package is in high humidity state.
