In recent days, Labthink staff went to Indonesia to install and test instruments for the customers. They are deeply impressed by the desolate scenery of Indonesia after earthquake hazard. Labthink decided to show Indonesian people ties of friendship from China enterprises by donating money generously, which received unanimous approvals form customers and local mediums.
Indonesia is the biggest island country in the world and has the name of ‘country with thousands of islands’. However, since Pacific Ocean locates in the ‘circum volcano area’, Indonesia often encounters earthquake attacks. Earthquakes there can happen up to hundreds of times annually. In the past two years, the earthquake here that caused heavy casualties is more than five times and has resulted in deaths of several ten thousands. Among that, the 7.9 Sumatra earthquakes have caused deaths of more than 17 thousand, for which the lingering fear still persists.
The earthquake hazard happening one after another also seriously influenced Indonesia economy, with rubber industry being the most seriously affected. Moreover, the devaluation of rupiah results in rapid increase of international oil price, which necessarily aggravated the already scratched-up economy of Indonesia. The most direct affect is that the completion of many orders is slowed. According to schedule, Labthink and Indonesia customer PT. Prima Makmur planned to carry out instrument commissioning and training in June. However, the violent earthquake in Indonesia this time made the plan prolong times and again. From its agent and local customers during this travel, Labthink got more direct and deeper understanding of the influence of earthquake on Indonesia, so it decided to provide some help to quake afflicted Indonesia to express the consolation from Chinese enterprises.
Once setting their feet on Indonesian land, Labthink staffs begin to realize the exhaustion and resignation of Indonesian people who have encountered frequent earthquake hazard. After completing installation and commissioning as well as corresponding training, Labthink staff expressed their donating wish to the biggest newspaper office that is doing disaster relieving and money collection.
