Introduction: as the second biggest country in population with rapid economic development, India has witnessed an astonishing change in the past twenty years. Its development in plastic industry is incomparable by any of the countries. From February 9, 2006 to 14th,the triennial ‘PLASTINDIA’ ceremoniously opened under the expectation of industry people. As the only exhibitor of China package testing industry, Labthink personnel experienced the elegant demeanour of this professional exhibition that ranked number 3 in global plastic industry. Here, we will publish the log of our participators with a hop to feast readers.
Wednesday February 8th, Fine
At four o’clock in the morning, after nearly ten hours’flying, our flight slowly descends at the New Delhi international airport. Heat wave outside the engine room reminds us that we are already far away from Jinan in chilly spring and are on the land of India.
After a short break at Indian time ten o’clock, under the guide of local distributors, we reach the biggest exhibition hall of India - New Delhi pula. Sails Exhibition Hall and drive into a door that is not very splendid. In the following half hour, our vehicle shuttles to and fro continuously among various buildings. After enquiry we know that we are seeking position to spare. At this time I suddenly realize that the exhibition site is so much big. In my mind I seems having seen words that reads ‘hall 18’. Taking the service places into account, I think there are altogether about twenty-five buildings.
We finally find our 14# hall. There is a very big sign hanging on left-side wall of the hall, which reads the names of 162 exhibitors and their distribution map. We walk into the hall after identification. At that time, platforms for exhibition are being assembled, which makes the hall look extremely disorder. We arrive at our A13 exhibition place and find our booths are safely there. Only after seeing that could I set my mind at a little rest. Since we will exhibit precision instruments, we do not hire local workers for help. Instead, our engineers complete all the work. Up to five o’clock, the instruments we had carefully selected for exhibition finish installation and commission. All the instruments are now staying there waiting for inspection of the distinguished meeting tomorrow.
Thursday February 9th, Fine
At about 9 o’clock, we arrive at the hall. Passages of the exhibition area become much clearer than yesterday. Colorful carpets are on the floor. All exhibitors have finished preparation. The whole exhibition hall becomes very beautiful. Here we saw exhibition places of General, GE and etc. in the 14# hall named South Asia Hall, exhibition places of international well known corporations such as Asahi Kasei and Dae Kwong are seen there, which give me the preliminary impression of the biggest international plastics technology exhibition of Asia-Pacific area.
Visitors begin to enter the exhibition hall one after another. Our engineers and our distributors are also well prepared to welcome the visitors that coming to our place. The number of visitors reached a climax at about 12o’clock. We are busy with the product introduction and demonstration, answering questions of visitors without a break. We feel very thirsty during our explanation, but there is no time to drink water. What surprises me most is that starting from12 o’clock; the bustling stream does not finish until 5 o’clock in the afternoon. I realize that prediction of the exhibition host to attract more than 1200 exhibitors from 35 countries in the world is not unreal words.
Sunday 12th February, Fine
The ceremonious scene of the first opening day went on theses days. Passion of the visitors is a side reflection of the rapid development in present Indian plastic industry. There is also very big market demand to the mechanical instruments, to the tools and accessories of relating industries.
Visitors’ enthusiasm to instruments of China is also out of our expectation. Although there are signs of ‘no photos’ ‘hands off, no bump’ in remarkable position of our place, many visitors cannot help gathering around our instruments and touching them. Then they would ask’ from Japan，Korea or Taiwan？’. On hearing my answer of ‘from China’, they always stared and said ‘Oh! Good’. I found many visitors came to our place several times. Though I feel unhappy about their questions, I feel pride about what Labthink has achieved. The highly precision instruments manufactured by Labthink make foreign visitors thumps up and impress them with a new sight.
In these days, our 12-meter platform always crowed to such an extent that there is no place to set foot on. I even plan to apply for support of more personnel. In my mind, at least five people are needed to serve so big a crowd.
Tuesday February 14th, Fine
Today is the last day of exhibition. Until the withdrawing of the meeting, there are still customers waiting for specimen test. Though the going-on explanation and demonstration all day makes us extremely exhausting, pomp of the exhibition has made us to a excited state, which has been supporting us to receive 586 customers and visiting of more than 1000 times in the past five and half days. Our distributors are also very glade from the beginning to end. When there is opportunity to talk with me, they would say ‘good’.
In addition to the above things, what makes us most exciting is the visiting of several leading enterprises of Indian. Big enterprises that enjoy high fame in Indian or even in world plastic and rubber industry as well as pharmaceutical industry such as Reliance、Supreme、Vishakha Polyfab、packaging India、Ranbaxy sent relating directors and technicians to Labthink place for a better understanding of the instruments . Generally speaking, these enterprises attach great importance to quality controlling of products and are furnished with test instruments from various countries. After seeing our instruments and demonstration, they show great interest to the test technology of Labthink, especially to the research achievements of Labthink in the fields of barrier property testing. In their eyes, Labthink products are not inferior to any well-known brands in the world in terms of product performance and technology advancement. They said that in their future purchasing of relating instruments, Labthink would be given full consideration. They also warmly invited Labthink people to their company, which strengthened our confidence of future development in Indian.
Friday February 17th, Frog to Fine
In the two days after the ending of exhibition, we visited several customers as scheduled in New Delhi, such as Ranbax and Skypack. All things went on extremely smoothly.
Before down, we arrived the New Delhi international airport after a ten-day travel in Indian and wait for the flight to Beijing. Looking back the ten-day stay in Indian, we feel it is very valuable and instructive. Participating the exhibition this time offers China package instruments an opportunity to demonstrate in professional exhibition of the world. By participating exhibition and visiting customers this time, we deeply realized the rapid development of Indian plastic industry. With a rough estimation of the materials provided by the host, there are altogether 1337 exhibitors and more than one million visitors. Among that, 78 are Indian film sheet manufacturers, 81 are package manufactures for finished and half-finished products, and 6 for adhesion products. The travel to India provides us with a more reasonable and accurate judgment. It further strengthened our confidence and determination of market developing in Indian. We believe that in the near future, Labthink will be known among more and more people of the industry and there will be more and more Labthink products settled in India.
